Senior Technical Writer/Documentation Evangelist
I help companies, and teams build user-friendly and catchy documentation for their software products, applications, solutions, and business processes to accelerate adoption, and improve user engagement.
I have 15+ years experience in the software industry that includes 11+ years in Technical Writing.
My documentation portfolio includes playbooks, digital content (Walkme), videos, illustrations, user guides, quick start guides, API reference manuals, and confluence pages (internal community). In addition, anything that requires translation from complex to simpler form.
Working Principle: Collaborate, write, and rewrite until I get it right!
Although my work aligns with the product development cycle, typically, my journey begins with customer interactions, understand their needs, and collaborate until we nail it. It all starts from friendly conversations to open debates on technical topics, English, and of course grammar. Indeed not as easy as it sounds. As they say, “It does take a village.”
I like to put my creative mind at work while translating complex information into user-friendly artifacts. From hand holding a user through a complex on-boarding process to resolving a recurring issue with simple messages, I enjoy the journey.
Document only that matters to the users!
With a decrease in human attention span every year, it is important to show information that matters to users and ensure it is accessible at the right time. I engage with users and stakeholders, to understand the different aspects of user experience to mitigate gaps in content accessibility and availability.
With emerging technology, there is a necessity to adapt to new tools and technologies. Some of the tools include the traditional MS word, Framemaker, Author IT, Camtasia, and Adobe suite of products. Currently exploring with open source tools, such as Sphinx, and the leaning continues.
