Job in IT, past of psychology studies, and passion for feminism
First of all, let me introduce myself:
My name is Isabella Malicki and I am a Polish/Swedish who spent most of her life in the UK and the Netherlands.
I have an academic background in clinical psychology and psychotherapy, as I initially set out to become a psychotherapist. Around four years ago I did a drastic turn and got involved with IT sales instead and I have now worked as an account manager and new business lead for companies such as Oracle and Marval.
As much as I love my job, I have not abandoned my past of psychology studies, and my passion for feminism combined with my own experience in a male dominated industry has led me to hold various workshops at relevant conferences around the world. My goal is to help women with feeling strong in who they truly are and confront/explore unhealthy ideals when it comes to modern feminism.
Last year I held the popular workshop Stop apologising and Start negotiating at Women in Tech in Amsterdam (RAI). The workshop was about how we as women in male oriented industries can become more successful by promoting healthy feminism and support between women by holding an honest dialogue with ourselves and focus on inner strength and courage.
As a combination of the feedback I received and learnings from working in IT sales in various countries and cultures, I now would like to hold a speech called I don’t support women, I support the woman.
